Anglo Saxons
For our BIG BANG, we created illuminated letter. We also had a go at soap carving inspired by Anglo Saxon designs.
Following Sports Week, in English we looked at an excellent book called ' The Mind-blowing World of Extraordinary Competitions'. We created our own competitions and presented these in a non-chronological report. We also created beasts and scary settings that were inspired by Beowulf.
As part of our science lessons, we looked at how magnets are used we learnt about the different types of forces that we use in every day life.
In history lessons, we learnt about the Anglo Saxons. How they lived and worshipped. We visited a reconstructed Anglo Saxon Village and thought about why these people settled where they did.
In French, we learn about flavours and ice creams. We learnt how to order an ice cream in French and then had an ice cream parlour in class to put our new found skills to the test.
