Maths in EYFS
In Honeypot Class, we follow the White Rose Maths scheme. We have three carpet sessions a week and love to sing songs, use manipulatives and bring learning to life through different interactive activities. Our curriculum is progressive and we start the year by focusing on and securing number facts up to 5, going on to numbers up to 10 and then later in the year understanding numbers up to 20. Within maths, we look at shape, pattern and comparing measurements.
In Reception, the children learn through play. Within our provision, the children have many different activities and areas where they are able to learn the different maths skills with more independence allowing the learning activities to develop around the children's interests.
