Welcome to our Class page!

We are Duckpuddle Class. We are a mixed age class of Year 1 and Year 2 children.  Our class teachers are Miss Clark and Mrs Hills. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Bashford and we currently have Mrs Oram, our specialist leader, supporting us in class for four mornings each week. We have a lovely bright classroom that we enjoy discovering new topics in.

Children joining Duckpuddle class have settled into school life and are ready and excited to learn lots of new information. In our class we support children in becoming learners who enjoy stretching their brains to develop a growth mindset. We have a spacious classroom, with a cosy book corner, where we spend lots of time reading a range of stories to allow our love of reading to flourish. We also have a topic area where children can take part in small activities that link in with our current learning.

We begin each topic with a ‘BIG BANG’. This is an enriching experience which gets us excited about the topic ahead. Some of these may involve being creative, exploring our local area, or recreating an experience we will learn more about. We have lots of outside space we can use as our ‘outdoor classroom’ to expand our learning environment. Each week the children have a wonderful Forest School lesson, whatever the weather, where they thoroughly enjoy learning about our world using natural resources.

We are very fortunate to have specialist teachers for PE Music and Mindfulness in our school.

At Christmas and at the end of the summer term we perform whole school productions. Every child in the school has an important role to play and our singing is always amazing!

We always enjoy our learning in Duckpuddle Class and try our best to stretch our brains!
