What is the Friends all about?
We are a collection of parents, staff and governors who come together to help raise funds for the enrichment of the pupils of Therfield First school. We do this by organising events which children, parents, staff and the local community can take part in and enjoy.
Here are just some of our fun events that have taken place over the past year:

Why is raising money important?
Therfield First is a fantastic school and we are very happy that our children come to such a lovely, caring place. The Friends are dedicated to raising money to provide the children with enriching experiences, equipment and facilities. But it’s not all about fundraising. We also try to play an active part in the school community. It’s a great way to get to know the school, other parents and members of staff, who together all work towards a common aim, to enhance opportunities for our children.
How Do We Spend The Money Raised?
This is usually decided between Mrs McGovern, after consultation with the staff, and the committee. The school council are also asked for their ideas on what to buy. Funds raised go towards workshops, IT resources, play equipment and we are very proud this year to have contributed to the wonderful mosaic in the school’s entrance hall.
