Welcome to Duckpuddle Class
We are a mixed age year 1 and year 2 class.
Our class teachers are Mrs Oram and Miss Watson and our teaching assistant is Mrs Favell.
Each half term we have a new topic. This year we will be finding out about:
Our Brilliant Bodies
At the start of every topic we have a ‘BIG BANG.’ This is an enriching experience which gets us excited about the topic ahead.
In Duckpuddle class we learn in lots of interesting ways. We have an exciting classroom where we have many resources to help us with our learning. We all enjoy getting into character in our topic themed role-play area. We have a comfortable book corner where we can share our favourite stories and there are chrome books to help support our learning. We are able to use our entire school grounds as our outside classroom. We have a designated ‘outdoor classroom’ time each week, when we are outside whatever the weather, but we also like to explore all areas of our curriculum in our wonderful outside learning environment.
We are very fortunate to have specialist teachers for PE and Music in our school.
At Christmas and at the end of the summer term we perform whole school productions. Every child in the school has an important role to play and the singing is always amazing.
We always enjoy our learning in Duckpuddle class.
Duckpuddle Class interviewed a ‘real-life’ Guinness Book of Records winner, Simon Jackson, who recently broke the record for the fastest indoor ironman triathlon. The children asked Simon their questions over a Zoom interview and were so inspired by meeting him that they are now working on some exercise challenges that he has set the class.
