“Bringing Learning to Life”
This half term, we have been learning about the Stone Age through two amazing English books “The Stone Age Boy” by Satoshi Kitamura and “How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth” by Michelle Robinson. We wrote recounts pretending to be a child in the Stone Age and instructions on how to wash a different Stone Age animal.
In History, we looked at where the Stone Age period is in history compared to other historical periods that we have learnt about. When learning about Stone Age people, we dissected pretend poo to find out what they ate! In Science, we sorted, identified and categorised different types of rocks and learnt about the rock cycle. In Maths, we focused on the place value of 3 and 4 digit numbers and enjoyed exploring the different ways they could be partitioned, ordered and compared.
